About Us

The origin of Catalina Paints starts with a small paint factory on the west side of Los Angeles , established in 1933 with a stores in Beverly Hills and Santa Monica. The name changed to Catalina Paints in 1968 and manufacturing facilities moved to it’s present location in North Hollywood.

Through the years Catalina Paint Factory has manufactured literally millions of gallons of paint, and currently can boast being the largest paint factory in the San Fernando Valley-which if separated from Los Angeles would be the 6th largest metropolitan area in the country-In 1994, Catalina was approached by Benjamin Moore & Co., the premier national manufacturer of high-end residential and industrial paints.

Benjamin Moore was looking to expand further in the California market and felt that Catalina would be a good match, and it certainly has been. Catalina is now the largest distributor of Benjamin Moore Paints in the Los Angeles area.Catalina has been growing as a company and still is a family run business.

We've recently opened our 6th store in Pasadena. This location has a history itself as being built in the 1950's as a another paint store. Though times have changed, it's still nice to see the building being used for what it was intended.

Our product line has expanded tremendously just within this last decade. With our own manufactured Catalina Line of Paints, we have Benjamin Moore, Pratt & Lambert, stains, lacquers, imported Italian plasters and Marmorino, and tons more.  Our secret to success is truly our customer service and our honest approach to doing business.
